Lady Dane Farmhouse is rated ‘Outstanding’ by CQC

Strode Park Foundation is delighted to announce that its residential care home, Lady Dane Farmhouse, in Faversham, has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Becky Richards, Director of Care & Deputy Chief Executive at Strode Park Foundation, said, “We are incredibly proud of all our staff team at our residential care home in Faversham. This outstanding rating is a reflection of their dedication, compassion, and professionalism. This exceptional achievement shows our commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive home for people with disabilities.”

Following an inspection in February, the rating, published today, marks an improvement from the home’s previous ‘Good’ rating in March 2021. Lady Dane Farmhouse provides care and support for 15 people with disabilities and is proud to be one of the Mayor of Faversham’s charity partners of the year.

This ‘Outstanding’ achievement comes in a milestone year for Strode Park Foundation, as the charity celebrates its 80th anniversary, marking eight decades of delivering high-quality care and support to people with disabilities across Kent.

Amy Jupp, Deputy Director for Adult Social Care in the South East at CQC, praised the home’s person-centred approach. She said, “When we inspected Lady Dane Farmhouse, we found a real person-centred culture where people were receiving support from staff who knew them well, and who supported them to lead meaningful lives. It was clear that leaders and staff understood people’s individual needs, and we saw how care was adapted to reduce distress and maximise access to positive experiences.”

The report highlighted how staff empower residents to achieve their goals, including organising an annual graduation ceremony to celebrate their progress.

Amy Jupp added, “These positive outcomes were made possible because leaders had a strong understanding of people’s needs and how best to support them. They routinely monitored the care people received and were committed to learning lessons and making improvements where things fell short, by listening to staff. Everyone at Lady Dane Farmhouse should be proud of what they’ve achieved, and other services should look to this report as an example of outstanding practice.”

Claire Dante, Registered Manager at Lady Dane Farmhouse, said, “Achieving an outstanding rating reflects our focus on placing residents and their families at the heart of everything we do. This rating belongs to every team member who goes above and beyond each day to ensure our residents feel valued, respected, and cared for.”
