Give the gift of time
Whether you have just a few hours to spare now and again, on a more regular basis, or even just once a year we definitely have something for you here at Strode.
We have roles in our charity shops, sorting the goods before they get to the charity shops, working with residents, helping at our fundraising events or you may have a specific skill such as gardening that we could really benefit from.
Volunteering at Strode Park guarantees to be fun and extremely rewarding, but most importantly our volunteers are invaluable in helping to assist us to provide the best possible service we can for the children and adults we care for.
- Find a volunteer vacancy you would like to do from the list below on this page
- Print off and fill out a Volunteer Application Form or get in touch and we’ll send you one out
- We’ll then be in touch with your volunteer pack and getting you in as quickly as we can.
If you want to know more please call our Volunteer Co-ordinator Sarah Bingham on 01227 373292 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
We hold events all year round and we are always looking for more people who can help us set up, run stalls and generally help the event run smoothly. It is great fun and you will get to meet and interact with a whole range of people. If you are an event volunteer this does not mean you have to help out at every event, you have the option to say yes or no to helping out.
We currently have two charity shops, one in Herne Bay and one in Tankerton. The shop is run completely by volunteers and so any extra help is always welcome. This role would include interacting with customers, till work, sorting out the shop displays and keeping a general tidiness to the shop.
A great way to volunteer for us at Strode Park is to be a part of our befriending services for our residents. Our residents cannot always see their friends and family as regularly as most people do so being an extra face that can dedicate their time to the residents can make the world of difference and put a smile on their faces.
With two charity shops we get a lot of donations that need sorting through. This role would really suit anyone who would like to get involved but doesn’t necessarily want to be interacting with customers. Your job will include quality checking items, steaming, organising and getting the donations shop ready.
In the fundraising department we are always looking for an extra pair of hands to help support our work. It could be packaging up hampers, ripping up raffle tickets, helping with collection pots and anything else that might need help to make sure our fundraising is flawless.
Theatre in the Park is our biggest event in the summer and it is almost completely run by volunteers. Not only will you be able to offer help at our events, checking tickets, selling raffle tickets, in the bar or the general set up of the event but you will also be able to listen to great music and enjoy the amazing atmosphere of the event.
If you’re green fingered then we would love to see support with maintaining our gardens and transforming new ones.
Herne Bay Charity Shop
We are currently looking for volunteers to help in our Herne Bay Charity Shop. The shop is based in Bank Street in the town and is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9.30am – 3.30pm. Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic we are working on reduced hours and days until we can build back up to full capacity. Any time you can offer, we’d love to hear from you.
Tankerton Charity Shop
We are currently looking for volunteers to help in our Tankerton Charity Shop based in St Anne’s Road. The shop is currently closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, however in the next couple of weeks we hope to open with reduced hours to begin with. We look forward to hearing from you if you can help.
