Wheelchair Alliance research project

The Wheelchair Alliance, is a national body headed-up by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, they advise both, NHS England and the Government. Our Service User Advocate at Strode Park, Phil Ling, is a member of their User Group, and represents Wheelchair Users in Kent, and the Care Homes of England.

The Wheelchair Alliance are undertaking an important research project, and they really need your help.

This research is looking at the true value of the right wheelchair on: health, wellbeing, maximising your life goals, and socialising, just some of the ways the right wheelchair impacts people’s lives. However, it’s effects are far wider than this so they really need to hear from as many people as possible. This is where you can help, please use the link below to complete the survey, available until 31 August 2023.

Phil Ling, Strode Park’s Service User Advocate, said: “I know there are loads of you wheelchair users and their families out there that are dissatisfied with the NHS’s provision of wheelchairs. I would strongly urge you to fill in this form, as it will help influence the research and the recommendations the Wheelchair Alliance make when completed.

“This is important because although the Wheelchair Alliance is a relatively new set-up it does have a fairly powerful voice; they are able to talk directly with wheelchair services, commissioners, NHS England and the Department of Health & Care. Also if necessary they are able to request that a question be raised in parliament.”
