Volunteer of the Month – December

December is always a busy month for the fundraising and volunteer team at the Strode Park Foundation and this month we would like to highlight James Keeley who has been an asset to the volunteering family this month.

We are recognising James this month because he has had lots of ideas about Christmas shop windows, and he has helped with covering lots of extra shifts throughout this month.

We would like to start by saying a huge thank you to James for all his hard work as his role as a ‘charity shop and sorting shed volunteer’. Within this role James works shifts within the charity shop alongside sorting through some of our donations into what can be sold at our Herne Bay Charity Shop and what can go onto online platforms such as Vinted and eBay.

James thoroughly enjoys his time volunteering for Strode and he said “I love meeting new people and getting to see them each week. Volunteering allows me to make lots of new friends and have fun while helping a local important charity”.

At the Strode Park Foundation we understand that everyone who supports our charity has a different story that we like to help share. James added “volunteering at the sorting shed area and the charity shop means at least two times a week I get out of the house and expand my CV with lots of significant experience” Following from this James said that his favourite thing about volunteering is when he gets to use and understands the cash register at the shop as it is not easy to learn. We are so proud of everything you have achieved and are doing while volunteering with us James.

James’ one word to help describe volunteering for Strode is “Fun, volunteering for Strode is fun because you get to make lots of new friends and help a local charity all while having fun in a friendly environment”.

Thank you, James, for all your continued hard work, we couldn’t run our charity shop or donation area without you.
