Rob’s bucket list run!

Robert Smith, a 44-year-old builder from Herne Bay, will be taking on the Brighton Marathon on 12 September 2021 to raise vital funds for Strode Pak Foundation.

The builder was a novice to running when he first signed up to the Marathon, however, due to Covid restrictions the runner has now found himself having trained multiple times for nearly two years. Robert noted he had reach 15 miles before the first lockdown, however, has had to restart his training all again due to the postponement and is looking to ramp up the training in the next few weeks.

Rob said, “I had always wanted to do a Marathon, tick it off the bucket list, but had never been a runner before, one of my friends had told me about the space available to run for Strode and as it was a local charity to me, I saw it as a great opportunity to help a good cause.”

When asked about the time he is aiming to run in Robert said that he is looking to complete in 5 hours but is more focused on just finishing the race and raising money for Strode Park Foundation. Robert is most looking forward to the atmosphere on the day and finally being able to complete the race.

Robert is aiming to raise an amazing £500 for Strode Park Foundation. You can help support Robert and give him that extra push across the finish line by sponsoring him at: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Robertsmith156
