Ready for Ride London

Dan Constantine will be getting Ride London ready over the next couple of months as Ford RideLondon, the world’s greatest festival of cycling, returns on Sunday 28 May 2023.

Dan, 50, will be taking part in the gruelling but unique 60-mile circuit which pedals past impressive London landmarks and through picturesque rural Essex. The route enters Essex through Epping Forest and continues through central Epping, Ongar, Leaden Roding, Great Dunmow, Felsted and Writtle, before returning to Ongar and heading back into the capital.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the hugely popular event, which was established by the Mayor of London in 2013 as an Olympic legacy event from the 2012 London Games.

And keen cyclist Dan, is lucky to have bagged himself a spot in the saddle.

He said: “I have been applying for a place on Ride London 100 for at least the past seven years and I have FINALLY managed to get a slot! I am obsessed with cycling and wouldn’t normally raise money for a ride like this but last year my wife Louisa started working at Strode Park Foundation so it seemed like fate that I secured a place at the same time as Louisa started at Strode Park.”

Dan’s training has consisted of weekly cycle rides clocking up around 70 miles so he’s well on the way to smashing it on the day.

Challenge hero, Dan, from Tankerton, added “I have had the opportunity to meet some of the residents at Strode Park and volunteer at events run by the charity and have been inspired by the independence, wellbeing and choice it advocates for on behalf of their clients, this gives people throughout their care services the opportunity to live life the way they choose.”

Dan’s goal is to raise £500 and he’s well over half way there. You can sponsor Dan below
