Charity shop aids key skills for residents!
Coach House, long term resident Mark has recently started a new volunteering adventure!
As we do every month, we have lots of amazing people, businesses, and organisations to thank and we want to share the wonderful ways in which they have and are continuing to support the charity and our work.
Without all of these supporters we would not be able to support our residents and clients the way we do.
To begin, we’d like to say thank you to:
• The Beaney in Canterbury who have allowed us to put on a wonderful exhibition for the next 2 months. We have been working with local photographer Harry Booker and the Beaney to portray a day in the life of four of our residents.
• Following from this we would like to say a massive thank you to Harry Booker for giving up his time to take some fantastic pictures of our residents and portraying them in such a perfect light.
• A huge thank you to the Forest of Blean Rotary Club and their president Mike Moore who chose to support the Strode Park Foundation as his ‘Charity of the Year’. Our residents, Director of Fundraising and Communications Karen and Chief Executive Paul Montgomery recently attended a concert at Canterbury Cathedral with the London Welsh Male Voice Choir. What a wonderful evening they had. THANK YOU!!
• The Lord Mayor of Canterbury, Councillor Jean Butcher and The Lady Mayoress of Canterbury, Mrs Di Baldock will take up a second term in office for the forthcoming mayoral year after they were elected by their fellow members at the Annual Council meeting. Strode Park Foundation is the Lord Mayor’s chosen charity for the year 2024/25. Thank you for choosing our charity and allowing us to continue to provide the most high-quality care possible.
• Up next is Enchanted Gardens, who have kindly donated three rose bushes to Strode Park House. These roses will be used for the residents to remember anyone they have lost over the years. Thank you, Enchanted Gardens.
• A huge thank you goes out to all our volunteers for their continued hard work across the foundation. We could not function without each and every one of our volunteers so thank you!
• In addition to this, we would like to thank all our staff for their continued support, whether it be donating your old clothes, donating spare time outside of work, we want to thank you!
• Lastly, as we have done the past couple of months, we would like to give another mention to Gavin and Gary at the Copper Pottle who have now retired. From all at the Strode Park Foundation we would like to say a massive thank you for all your fundraising efforts over the last nine years, we could not do this without you.
THANK YOU, to everyone for all they have done this month in supporting Strode. We could not do provide the care we do without all of your help and support. THANK YOU!
