Careers in Care at Strode

A career in Health and Social Care can be firmly carved out at Strode Park Foundation, thanks to its robust training programme for all new care employees.

All new care workers complete the Care Certificate, which is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors.

The learning and development programme is made up of the 15 minimum standards that should be covered for all those who are ‘new to care’ and forms part of Strode Park Foundation’s induction programme.

In 2021, 92.9% of Strode Park’s care staff completed their Care Certificate compared to 30% in the rest of the south east.

Strode Park Foundation is also proud of its completion rates for Diplomas in Health and Social Care, which are also offered to all Care and Support Workers once they have completed their six-month probationary period.

Last year, 19 colleagues successfully completed their Diplomas across levels 2 to 4, as well as a two colleagues completing their Diploma Level 3 for the Children and Young People’s Workforce and another employee successfully finishing their CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Learning and Development.

HR Director, Kerry Bardsley, said: “We are really proud of our learning and development offering here at Strode Park Foundation. These qualifications are in addition to our stringent online learning programme that all employees complete as part of their induction programme. When you embark on a career in care at Strode, we will make sure you get as much opportunity as possible to progress which ultimately means we can offer the highest quality of care to all of the adults and children who use our services.”
