5-star rating for Strode Park catering

A Kent care home has recently been awarded the highest rating for their food hygiene standards by the Food Standards Agency.

Strode Park House, which is a care home for people with disabilities, has been awarded a 5-star food hygiene rating, the highest possible, after a routine food hygiene inspection.

The five-star rating is awarded by the Food Standards Agency to businesses and organisations where food hygiene standards are very good and fully comply with the law, and where the inspectors feel confident standards will continue to be met.

To achieve the top rating, businesses must score highly in a number of areas including; food handling and preparation, cleanliness of facilities, pest control, food safety, and food hygiene training.

Director of Care Services (Nursing and Therapy), John Cotterill, said: “This is a great achievement, and we are very proud to have achieved the best rating possible. Well done to all our catering and care staff in helping to make this possible and for providing our residents, visitors and staff with a safe environment that allows them to enjoy their meals with confidence.”
