A dedicated group of supporters from Strode Park Foundation’s residential care home in Faversham has raised £2,179 for residents with disabilities, after completing ‘The Great 400 Mile Steps Challenge’.
The challenge was taken on by four next-of-kin relatives of residents at the home, Irene, Fran, Kay, and Judy, who each committed to walking 400 miles each. Between November and the end of January, the group walked in all weathers, covering an impressive 1,849 miles.
The funds raised will help the Faversham residential care home continue to support residents with disabilities in living fulfilling lives.
Reflecting on the achievement, Kay said: “ It was a great challenge, and I’m very proud of our little team’s achievement.”
Claire Dante, Registered Home Manager at the Faversham Care Home, said, “A huge thank you to Irene, Fran, Kay and Judy for completing this amazing challenge. We are all so proud of you and grateful for your wonderful support.”
