Classic Car Show raises £1,233 for Strode Park Foundation

We are thrilled to announce that our Classic Car Show at Strode Park House in Herne, held on 20th September, raised an incredible £1,233 to support people with disabilities.

Despite a rainy start, the skies soon cleared, and the event turned into a fantastic day for visitors, exhibitors, and residents alike. The grounds of Strode Park House were filled with 30 classic cars, 13 motorbikes, 3 model railways, and even a model bus, for enthusiasts of all ages.

A huge thank you goes to our friends at the East Kent Model Railway Society, East Kent Morris Minor Club, Thanet MG Owners’ Club, and the BSA Club for their help in organising and supporting the event.

We were also delighted to receive a five-star Google Review and some lovely feedback from attendees praising the event.

Nick Evans, Chairman of the Whitstable-based East Kent Model Railway Society and Chairman of the Thanet MG Owners’ Club, said, “The pop-up model railway show was a great opportunity to show off our modelling expertise and a chance to connect both with residents of Strode Park Foundation and the wider community. Members have been saying since how much they enjoyed the day.”

Nick, added, “Nine members of the Thanet MG Owners’ club brought their cherished classic cars along to the event to join around 20 Morris Minors to support a worthwhile cause. MG owners thoroughly enjoyed the day, which proved a great way of rounding off the classic car show season. The group has since recruited another member, which is a great bonus!”

Keith Arnold from the East Kent Morris Minor Club said, “The show had a lovely happy atmosphere. In spite of the rain, the residents I spoke to enjoyed it too.”

Malcolm Folwell from the BSA Club was equally supportive, commenting that: “Strode Park Foundation is a very worthy cause.”

We are delighted to confirm that the Classic Car Show will return next year on Saturday 19th September 2026. We hope to welcome even more cars, bikes, and model railway displays, all in support of Strode Park Foundation’s work with people with disabilities.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along, supported the event, and to the live music from The Useless Pluckers and our wonderful volunteers whose hard work and dedication made the day such a success.
