Cook (Ref: 22-035RW)

You will be working in a small friendly home with 6 residents and 22 staff. On a day to day basis, you will be in our clean, tidy and well designed kitchen, and will prepare and cook nutritious high quality meals in line with the standards set by the Foundation under the food and catering governance system whilst ensuring compliance with relevant Health and Safety and food hygiene requirements.

Your Duties will include:

  • Preparing and serving meals in a timely manner with consideration to allergies or dietary requirements that may be present
  • Stock control
  • Maintaining high standards of kitchen health, safety and cleanliness in regards to all relevant regulations
  • Ensuring all equipment is used with care and is in good working order.

Essential criteria:

  • Basic education (English and Maths).
  • Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Have the drive and ability to meet the demands of the qualification requirements.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative and engaging way.
  • Basic education including English and Maths.
  • Ability to clearly and appropriately communicate both orally and in written form with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have an interest and understanding of the commitment to the Foundation’s aims, values and objectives.

The following are desirable but not essential criteria:

  • Experienced in working in care and/or hospitality.
  • Experience in preparing food for people with specific dietary needs.
  • A knowledge of health and safety practices within a kitchen environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Food and Hygiene.
