Strode Park’s annual Easter Egg Hunt welcomed in excess of 300 children, in total over 700 people on Saturday 31st March.

Our special guest, The Easter Bunny, started the hunt at 10.30am – children set off to find different coloured pegs to exchange for Easter Eggs plus there were bonus bunnies to find which could be exchanged for a cuddly bunny and also a special gold and silver peg which were exchanged for Easter Hampers.

Over 50 children lined up for the Easter Bonnet Competition at 11.30am displaying a fantastic selection of creative and colourful bonnets, Judged by The Easter Bunny.

The event has raised in the region of £2,200 of which £1500 is being match funded by Ward & Partners Charitable Fund and all monies will go to our Footprints ‘Space to Play’ project which is an £120K project to create a wonderful indoor play area, a new sensory room  and to refurbish two respite care rooms for children with disabilities at our children’s home in Canterbury.

We carried on despite the showers and lots of fun and excitement was had by all. Our special thanks to everyone who donated Easter Eggs and raffle prizes, to the 25 volunteers who helped at the event, the Herne Bay Scouts who provided a breakfast bbq, St. John’s Ambulance and Strode Park’s Cook Bev Ash who baked a wonderful selection of cakes and biscuits for our cake stall.

A great event! We hope everyone will join us again next year.  Thank you for your support.
