Dragon Boat Race 2020
Leeds Castle, Maidstone ME17 1PL
The Maidstone Dragon Boat Challenge for 2020 is being held at the spectacular Leeds Castle where you will be paddling on the moat surrounding the ‘loveliest castle in the world’. Get a team together and raise funds for your Strode Park Foundation.
You will have squads of up to 20 rowers with 11 people in the boat at one time, including a drummer to set the pace. You do not need to be an athlete to be successful at this ancient Chinese event – if you are up for fun and can work as a team then you will do just fine.
The event takes place at Leeds Castle and all team members will have free entry to the grounds and will be able to enjoy the attractions on on offer in between races. Supporters that arrive before 10am will be offered day tickets at a much reduced rate and therefore they can not only watch the racing but will have access to the castle, the playground and all the other offerings.
We will also have some fun activities for families to take part in on waterside.
If you wish to raise funds for us please set up an online fundraising page via Virgin Money Giving to manage your donations or if online isn’t your thing you can download a Sponsorship Form if you’d rather collect your money in person.
This event is being organised by Kent Wish Foundation, but we’d love for you to put together a team for Strode Park!
A team costs £425 which is just £21 per person if you have a full team of 20 (which goes towards the organisers) so we will really need you to get as much sponsorship as possible for us. All of the sponsorship you collect will then go 100% to Strode Park and helping children and adults with disabilities.
