Laundry Assistant - Strode Park House

About the Role

Would you like to make a real difference behind the scenes in a care setting? We are looking for a reliable and caring Laundry Assistant to join our team at Strode Park House and help ensure residents’ clothing and linen are cleaned, cared for and returned to a high standard.

This is an important role within our housekeeping team, helping us provide a safe, comfortable and dignified environment for adults with disabilities and complex needs. You will handle laundry duties, support infection control standards, and take pride in delivering a quality service that supports residents’ wellbeing.

You will work 15 hours per week across 3 x 5-hour shifts on a rota basis over a 7 day period, to meet the needs of the service, including flexibility for weekends and the ability to support other sites in Canterbury and Faversham when required. We offer the hourly rate of £12.71.

We would love to hear from candidates who are practical, dependable, have a keen eye for detail, and are motivated to support people in an adult care environment.

Job Opportunity

As Laundry Assistant, you will collect and return residents’ laundry, operate industrial laundry equipment, undertake hand or roller ironing, complete basic sewing and mending where needed, and help keep the laundry area and equipment clean, safe and compliant with infection control procedures. You will also assist with linen stock handling and work sensitively with respect for residents’ privacy, dignity and individual needs.

As a Strode Park Foundation colleague you will receive comprehensive support from day one and receive training and development opportunities to develop your skills.

Strode Park House is a residential home with nursing care for 55 adults with physical disabilities and complex needs in Herne, Kent. We’ve been delivering care since 1946, and this residential home is where it all started.

The team at Strode Park House ensures our residents live in a safe and secure environment; each person’s individual wellbeing, dignity and choice is vitally important within the community of residents who live at or come for a short break. Please see our website for further information.
