For those who love live music and fancy a volunteering role with a difference, we have a great opportunity to join the team here at Strode Park Foundation’s Theatre in the Park.

We are holding an informal launch evening to introduce our summer programme on Thursday 9 May, 6.30pm to 7.30pm in the RISE Hall at Strode Park House and would love to meet any potential new and enthusiastic theatre team members there.

Theatre in the Park is a charming amphitheatre set within 14 acres of beautiful grounds at Strode Park in Herne which has been purpose-built to offer total access for people with disabilities and runs throughout the summer months from June until September.

There is a fantastic programme of events lined up for this year, including popular local bands, cabaret shows and high quality tribute acts. Tickets are already selling fast and it is once again set to be a busy and successful year.

With a variety of roles available: from box office to front of house, organising the raffle to selling refreshments in our busy bar, there really is something for everyone.

As one of our current volunteers, Chrissy, says: “Volunteering at Theatre in the Park is a great way to get involved with, not only a really unique venue, but a fantastic local charity. I’ve enjoyed helping out in a variety of roles since joining the team in 2017 from front of house and bar work to box office and band hospitality duties. The real bonus is getting to see the bands and acts that perform at the theatre at each event. It really is a rewarding role in every way.”

We look forward to seeing volunteers both old and new on the 9 May but for those who cannot make this event, details on how to join up are available on our website www.theatreinthepark.org.uk
