Sunday the 29th April saw a whole host of chickens descend on Herne Bay Pier ready to take part in the first ever Strode Park Foundation Chicken Run!

It was an eggscellent event despite the weather.

We have had great feedback on social media and the runner who came first, Paul Kelly, wrote a brilliant blog which can be seen on our Facebook page.

The highlight was when all the chickens were given a free ride on the carousel to start with!

All 40 runners completed the run in good time with no issues and were presented with a medal and chocolate egg.

We are hoping to have a bigger flock next year - participants will be able to register on our Website by 1st July.

All monies raised go towards providing vital care and support to children and adults with disabilities in our community.

Special thanks must go to all the volunteers who helped to make it such a great and smooth running event and to the Bay Running Shop for all their help with route planning, the warm up and sponsoring the water for all the runners!

It's safe to say, a cracking time was had by all!
