THIRTY-SIX day service clients from Strode Park Foundation are being given the chance to experience fun and freedom on the water as part of a sailing project.

The sailing sessions, which started last month, will be taking place once a month until October. The boats can hold up to six people plus staff on each session.

The sailing lake is at Westbere Marshes in Fordwich and each session lasts about an hour and a half.

Strode Park Foundation’s Day Opportunities Team Leader, Jan Ralph, said: “It’s completely exhilarating for our service users and is the perfect sport for them to feel tranquillity and freedom on the water. It also makes them feel active and involved and that is the reason we have given them this opportunity. Everyone loves it.”
