70th Anniversary Event

1940s Themed Garden Party and Show

Sunday 12th June 12 noon – 5pm

As part of our 70th anniversary celebrations (Strode Park Foundation was established in 1946) we are holding a big 1940s themed garden party in the grounds of Strode Park, Herne.

The grounds will be FREE to enter for this event!

There will be a wide range of things to see and do, including:

  • Vintage stalls
  • 1940s era cars
  • BBQ
  • Tea room
  • Traditional children’s games
  • Bouncy castle
  • Music by The Silver Band

A Salute to the 1940s is a fantastic traditional variety show packed with tributes to the stars of the 40s.

As soon as the audience walk into the theatre they are transported back in time to the 1940s with flags, posters, bunting and webbing.

The show has everything that any fan of the 1940s could wish for. Topping the bill is the UK No.1 Vera Lynn tribute, Lorrie Brown. After winning her award, Lorrie was invited to meet Dame Vera.

The show also features star tributes to George Formby, Gracie Fields, Andrews Sisters, and G.I. Frank Sinatra, all held together by Warden Braithwaite, the show’s very own compere/warden.
