Care Assistant

Redwalls, Canterbury

Strode Park Foundation is a charity based in Herne Bay, Canterbury and Rainham.  It is fully CQC complaint and has an excellent reputation.  It provides residential and community services to adults and children with complex disabilities.

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic, caring, reliable individuals to work with young adults with physical and learning disabilities.

Successful candidates will be expected to empower our young residents to;

Engage in a range of activities of their choice and provide appropriate physical and personal care throughout the day and night.

Candidates should be able to work fully flexible hours on a shift basis;

Day shift hours are worked between 8:00am until 08:00pm

Night shifts 08:00pm until 08:00am, for this post previous Medication Training would be an advantage

Working hours: 36 Hours per week, which includes weekends

Proven experience within a care environment is desirable however full training is provided to successful applicants

You must have an NVQ/Diploma 2 in care or be willing to work towards the award.

We offer an hourly rate of pay from £6.63 per hour Social £6.90 per hour Unsocial.  An additional enhanced is paid for the NVQ Qualification.

Catering Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the right skills to get involved in a demanding kitchen.

Strode Park Foundation is a charity with over 60 years experience in working with people with disabilities, providing long stay and rehabilitation services.

We are currently looking to recruit a Catering Assistant to join our friendly and successful team, at our Residential Services in Herne Bay.

Main Duties:

  • You will assist the Cooks, with the provision of meals within the Home and Day Centre when necessary.
  • Clear tables after meals, wash up all crockery, cutlery, pots and utensils and to ensure the kitchen and dining room is kept clean and tidy
  • To assist with serving food to residents, clients and staff and with setting out the dining room for meals.
  • To assist with preparation of refreshments for functions that may take place throughout the Foundation.

Hours available are between 24-30 hours per week

Hourly Rate £6.63 per hour Social £6.90 per hour Unsocial.

Independence Trainer

Working throughout our Lifestyles Unit you will be involved in enabling our young students to reach to their full potential, enabling them to eventually live independently.
You should be able to support their independence and social physical well being within a sensitive and supportive environment.
You will assist in delivering activities to enable students to maximize their learning capabilities.
You will maintain an accurate record for the students training, whilst ensuring all clients meet their personal hygiene and nutritional needs.

Experience in care is preferred though full training will be given with the opportunity to obtain a Diploma 2 in Care.

35 Hours per week including evenings and weekends.
Hourly rate of Pay £6.63 per hour, £6.90 per hour Unsocial

Driving License is preferred
Additional allowance is paid for Diploma/NVQ 2 Qualification.

Cook

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the right skills to get involved in a demanding kitchen.  Working within our residential unit in Herne Bay, you will ensure that Nutritional food is served to our residents and staff.

You will be working with raw ingredients and have knowledge of food/nutrition to prepare and cook nutritional food to a high standard at agreed meal times.

You should be capable to multi task to a highly efficient standard and be able to communicate with residents and staff at all levels whilst providing special dietary requirements where necessary and taking into account individual Clients needs and preferences.

Vital to the position is the ability to maintain professional standards for a clean and healthy workplace and the ability to prepare and provide well presented and nutritious meals set according to daily Menu.

Salary: £7.29 per hour 

Hours: 36 per week includes weekends

Previous experience within a busy kitchen environment is essential

Basic Food Hygiene, Level 2 Catering is desirable

Lead Carer

If you are patient with excellent communication and leadership skills, have the ability to support staff whilst they are undertaking their induction and ongoing development, the above post could be the one for you!

You will need to confidently be able to provide physical and social support to individuals to ensure they can achieve an appropriate level of independence and wellbeing in line with their aspirations and abilities.

In addition to this you will be responsible for:

  • The Induction & Training of all new and existing staff to ensure they are able to deliver the service at the standard required.
  • Be responsible for the support and supervision of all care staff.
  • Pro-actively lead a team of dedicated care staff for a designated area of the home

Essential to the role is a Diploma/NVQ 3 in Care and a current driving licence with at least 2 years experience within a similar role.

With an Hourly Rate of pay from ₤7.33 per hour to ₤7.94 per hour and an Enhancement of 20p per hour paid for relevant Qualification

Hours 37.5 Hours per week worked over a seven day rota.

Neuro-Physiotherapist and MDT Lead

(Re-Ability Lead)

  • Salary up to £40K dependent on experience
  • 35 hours per week

Re-Ability, a service provided by Strode Park Foundation, Kent’s premier charity for children and adults with disabilities. The service is a residential post-acute, neuro-rehab service that works in partnership with the NHS and its commissioners.

The role requires the post holder to take the specialist lead in physiotherapy and also supervise and lead the MDT. As well as leading the service, the post holder will carry their own clinical caseload.

Children’s Residential Bank Care Worker

Footprints, Canterbury

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic, caring reliable individuals with a desire to work with disabled children at our residential service in Canterbury.

You will be expected to empower young people with disabilities to: Engage in a range of activities of their choice and provide appropriate physical, social and personal care throughout the day and night. Support individuals in achieving an appropriate level of independence and well being, keeping in line with their aspirations and abilities. Whilst maximizing their experiences and developmental opportunities.

You must be able to work as part of a close knit team and where necessary, on your own initiative to a high standard. Good interpersonal skills and communication are essential.

You must have an NVQ 3 in Children and Young people or be willing to work towards the award and a current driving license.

We are looking for motivated and committed individuals with a calm approach. Experience of working with children and young people or in residential care setting is desirable, however full training will be provided to successful applicants.

We offer an hourly rate of pay at £6.73 per hour or £7.42 per hour with a diploma 3 qualification.

37 contracted hours per week but hours will include working days, nights and weekends.

Community Housekeeper/Domestic

Hours: 16 hours per week worked over Monday – Friday 09:00am-5:00pm

Community Carer

Would you like to assist people with physical disabilities to live independently in their own homes?

We are currently recruiting compassionate self-motivated and outgoing individuals for our ComCare service. Our service provides care and support to physically disabled adults and children in their own homes to help maintain their individual needs and levels of independence. 

You may already be experienced, if not you will receive all necessary training. We also offer the opportunity to further you career through additional recognized training such as a Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Good communication skills, own transport and mobile phone are essential for the position.

We operate a shift pattern for all Care Staff which allows our staff to work around personal commitments, the shifts are allocated within the specified times on a rolling two week rota:

Week one: Early shifts 7am – 2pm

Week two: Late shifts 2pm – 10pm

We are looking to recruit carers working between 16, 20 and 35 hour per week within Herne Bay, Whitstable and Canterbury areas.

We offer hourly rates of pay from £6.76 per hour to £8.76 per hour.

Mileage allowance paid @ 23p per mile.
