Catering Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the right skills to get involved in a demanding kitchen.

Strode Park Foundation is a charity with over 60 years experience in working with people with disabilities, providing long stay and rehabilitation services.

We are currently looking to recruit a Catering Assistant to join our friendly and successful team, at our Residential Services in Herne Bay.

Main Duties:

  • You will assist the Cooks, with the provision of meals within the Home and Day Centre when necessary
  • To clear tables after meals, wash up all crockery, cutlery, pots and utensils and to ensure the kitchen and dinning
  • To assist with serving food to residents, clients and staff and with setting out the dining room for meals
  • To assist with preparation of refreshments for functions that may take place throughout the Foundation

Hours available are between 24-42 hours per week

Hourly Rate £6.63 per hour Social £6.90 per hour Unsocial

Facilities Assistant

We are currently recruiting a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to work in a friendly environment as a member of our creative general maintenance team.  The successful candidate will be able to provide evidence of competence in a range of general maintenance skills. You would need the ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a small team.

Senior Support Worker

Platters Farm Lodge

If you are patient with excellent communication and leadership skills, have the ability to support staff whilst they are undertaking their induction and ongoing development, the above post could be the one for you!

You will need to confidently be able to provide physical and social support to individuals to ensure they can achieve an appropriate level of independence and wellbeing in line with their aspirations and abilities.

In addition to this you will be responsible for:

  • The Induction and Training of all new and existing staff to ensure they are able to deliver the service at the standard required
  • The support and supervision of all care staff
  • Pro-actively leading a team of dedicated care staff for a designated area of the home.

Essential to the role is a Diploma/NVQ 3 in Care and a current driving licence with at least 2 years experience within a similar role.

With an hourly rate of pay from ₤7.83 per hour to ₤8.44 per hour and an Enhancement of 20p per hour paid for relevant qualification.

We are currently looking to recruit two Senior Support Workers working between 20 – 30 hours per week, worked over a seven day rota on nights.

Support Worker

Platters Farm Lodge

We are currently looking for enthusiastic & outgoing individual to join our highly motivated team taking a lead role in organising a range of activities for our guests that will provide stimulation for the individual in accordance with the interest & abilities on a daily basis. When required, provide high quality support and personal care to our guests within all areas of the home whilst building confidence & promoting their independence.

Experience of working within rehabilitation, respite, dementia and day service settings is desirable but not essential as all training will be provided to successful applicants.

You must be able to work as part of a team or on your own initiative to a high standard. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

You must have a Diploma/NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards the award within twelve months of being in post. 

Full Driving Licence is preferred.

We offer an hourly rate of pay at £7.13 per hour social or £7.40 per hour unsocial. 

Working hours: 35 hours per week.  Working hours are to be worked on a 24 hour rota which includes weekends and evenings.

Lead Carer

Registered Nurse

  • Typically earning £27k p.a. for a 37.5 hour week with opportunities to earn more.

Children’s Residential Care Worker

You will be expected to empower young people with disabilities to engage in a range of activities of their choice and provide appropriate physical, social and personal care throughout the day and night, support individuals in achieving an appropriate level of independence and well being, keeping in line with their aspirations and abilities whilst maximizing their experiences and developmental opportunities.

You must be able to work as part of a close-knit team and where necessary, on your own initiative to a high standard. Good interpersonal skills and communication are essential.

You must have an NVQ 3 in Children and Young people or be willing to work towards the award, and a current driving license.

We are looking for motivated and committed individuals with a calm approach. Experience of working with children and young people or in residential care setting is desirable, however full training will be provided to successful applicants.

We offer an hourly rate of pay at £6.73 per hour or £7.42 per hour with a diploma 3 qualification.

Community Carer

Would you like to assist people with physical disabilities to live independently in their own homes?

We are currently recruiting compassionate self-motivated and outgoing individuals for our ComCare service. Our service provides care and support to physically disabled adults and children in their own homes to help maintain their individual needs and levels of independence. 

You may already be experienced, if not you will receive all necessary training. We also offer the opportunity to further you career through additional recognized training such as a Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Good communication skills, own transport and mobile phone are essential for the position.

We operate a shift pattern for all Care Staff which allows our staff to work around personal commitments, the shifts are allocated within the specified times on a rolling two week rota:

Week one: Early shifts 7am – 2pm

Week two: Late shifts 2pm – 10pm

We are looking to recruit carers working between 16, 20 and 35 hour per week within Herne Bay, Whitstable and Canterbury areas.

We offer hourly rates of pay from £6.76 per hour to £8.76 per hour.

Mileage allowance paid @ 23p per mile.

The fun club is currently running from July to September, 11am to 3pm and it includes arts and crafts, music and lots of fun!!!
