Strode Park offers two beautifully situated bungalows designed for disabled people to enjoy a self catering holiday within easy reach of a host of amenities. The bungalows are surrounded by 14 acres of mature gardens with unique stone carved fountain, large pond, woodland walk and open air theatre.
The bungalows living areas each comprise a built in kitchen with microwave oven which is also a conventional oven and grill, hob, dishwasher, washing machine/tumble dryer and all necessary cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware. There is a lounge/dining area complete with dining table, settee, two easy chairs and TV/Video combi.
Each bungalow has two twin bedrooms, one of which has an electronic operated height adjustable bed. They are also equipped with overhead electric hoists which run from each bedroom into the shower room/toilet. The shower and toilet facilities are designed within a ‘wet room’ and include a shower seat and wall support bars for those who need it.
Strode Park’s holiday bungalows provide self-catering holiday accommodation without care. However, Strode Park’s Domiciliary Care Service ‘ComCare’ may be able to offer a care service during your stay. Please telephone 01227 365887 for further details. Alternatively, your own Care Manager may be able to arrange care input from another agency if this is essential.
Strode Park is able to offer a free clinical waste collection facility. Details can be obtained on arrival.
The equipment provided is listed on the inventory and cannot be added to by Strode Park. If there are other items of equipment which you need, they must be brought with you.
Clients are recommended to have the necessary insurance cover for their personal possessions and motor vehicles. Strode Park Foundation cannot accept liability for loss or damage to any personal property during the rental period.
We regret that pets are not able to be brought to the bungalows except approved assistance dogs.
Smoking is not permitted inside the bungalows. Smoking is permitted on each of the bungalows patio.
We are unable to provide transport for holiday makers.
Local Attractions & Resorts
The seaside town of Herne Bay is just 1 mile away, Whitstable is 4 miles away and the Cathedral City of Canterbury is 8 miles away, all with plenty to offer such as theatres, pubs, restaurants, shops, cinemas and swimming pools. There is also a good selection of supermarkets within easy reach by car and Herne Post Office and stores are within walking distance.

All prices include
- Rental of the bungalow including use of equipment
- Water, gas and electricity consumption
- VAT at current rate
- Personal linen (towels etc)
- Any care element (i.e. slings for hoists)
- Insurance for cancellation or loss or damage of any kind during the holiday
In addition a £100 damage deposit is payable with the balance of hire – returnable in accordance with clause 4 of the Terms and Conditions of Hire. All cancellations must be made in writing.
Arrivals and departures
Arrivals must be between 14:00 – 16:00 (2pm – 4pm) on Friday or Monday afternoon, as appropriate. This is essential where the specialised hoists and beds are to be used, so that staff are available to show you how the equipment works. Should you be delayed, please telephone us, as staff will not normally be available after 16:45 (4.45pm).
Bungalows must be vacated by 10:00 (10am) on day of departure. A charge will be made in the event of late departure.
